A—ABOUT
I work as an architecture designer, artistic thinker, collaborative mediator and maker/builder, mainly working in cultural and social projects. From participatory art installations, to scenography, temporary structures, convencional architecture and carpentry works, I’m always open to new collaborations in Portugal and abroad.
Currently based in Lisbon, I spend a big amount of my time working as a member of Colectivo Warehouse, an Architecture and Art collective that I co-founded back in 2013.
I am also a co-founder of Compalha, a portuguese association for bio and natural building materials;
And a co-founder of C4A-Arte e Arquitectura a cooperative of architects, artists, builders, collectives and studios that share common values of collaboration and co-creation.

Invited by Ghost Creative Productions, Colectivo Warehouse integrated a team of artists for the realization of an Arts and Ecology festival at Licée Galandou Diouf, a public school in the center of Dakar.
The project’s main objective was to awaken the young students and the entire school community to environmental awareness through Art.
During two weeks in residence, Colectivo Warehouse developed a project in the Library and its surrounding area. Starting by redesigning the interior layout of the existing library, the primary objective was to introduce students to architectural tools. From that point on, the conditions were created for us to start working with a group of kids and codesigning a "new" library, a new space for reading and studying made with, and for, the students.
Through the a collection of local wood waste/scraps, the school students were able to create and build a whole new structure based on circular economy. This structure is built from a small auditorium, nestled by the adjacent tree, where children can have their own "private" space in the school playground.

The heart as the biological central piece of the unconscious Human and its association with raw emotions; its continuous pumping, pushing the blood through the circulatory system, by rhythmic contraction, creating an endless flux.
Alchemy Circle as the heart of Boom Festival 2022 is a place of fluidity with it’s open plan, allowing for a free immersive experience in the dance floor; a place of connection where the veins act as portals purposefully aligned with the strongest elements in Boom Land: the lake, the sky, the forest and the sunset, connecting the outside to the innermost space of the dancefloor; a place of grounding where the tall arches reach the sky and come down discharging their energy in the earth, forming the shape of the heart coming out of the land.
The skin that covers the structure is a fragmented mesh of polygons that creates a sense of direction towards the artist performing. The overlapping of different layers, shapes and colors of the skin promotes continuous air flow inside the structure and protects dancers from the sun.
Throughout the inside space, the wooden arches and skin layers come alive with the light and sound design, immersing boomers in a collective and pulsating rhythmic experience.

Portal de Palma was a participative portal-shaped installation focused on the collective memory of Palma’s neighbourhood, made of 144 stools. Each stool holds a fragment of memory shared by the inhabitants through a woodprint system on top of each seat.
Over the course of three weeks, the 144 memory-stoolswere built through a participatory in-situ workshop that involved residents, local shopkeepers and occasional passers-by. One of the main goals of this artistic installation was the inhabitants involvement and the activation / appropriation of the public space. A call for remembrance that fosters a tight relationship between the people and the installation achieved through emotional times.
